Meet Winnie, Nermington’s January Floof of the Month

We’re kicking off 2025 with a pawsitive start by celebrating Winnie, Nermington’s very first Floof of the Month for January! This charming pup has a heartwarming story, an infectious smile, and a love for life that will leave you grinning ear to ear. Get comfy, and enjoy getting to know this special floof!

Who’s Winnie?

Winnie is a rescue pup from the Greenville Humane Society and the perfect example of what we like to call a “super mutt.” Though her unique mix of breeds often has people guessing Labrador, Winnie is one-of-a-kind through and through!

Nickname: Miss Happy – because you’ll rarely catch her without that million-watt smile on her face.

Favorite Nermington's Product: Sailor bows! Winnie adores her Nermington’s sailor bows because they’re comfy, cute, and the only accessory she feels instantly at home wearing.

Favorite Snackies: Bananas, zucchini, and believe it or not, ice cubes. Sometimes, it’s the simple things! 🥶🍌🧊

Adventures in Ohio 🐾🌸❄️

Since moving to Ohio, Winnie has proven herself to be a dog for all seasons!

Summer loves: Splashing around in her dog pool, cooling off on sunny days, and lending a paw in the garden to water plants – all while looking stylish in her sailor bows, of course.

Winter fun: When the snow starts falling, Winnie’s all in! She adores bounding through fresh snowdrifts and ends her snowy adventures with cozy naps by the fireplace.

Winnie’s heart is even bigger than her love for life. She keeps in close touch with two of her littermates, Asher and Indigo. Their humans often share photos and updates, so Winnie always knows what her siblings are up to!

Winnie’s Adoption Story

Winnie’s story began with love at first sight. On March 6th at exactly 10:47 am, Annie stumbled across a photo of Winnie—then called Anya—on the Greenville Humane Society website and instantly knew she had to meet her.

At the shelter after work, Annie found Winnie lying quietly, a gentle smile on her face. Unlike the other pups, she wasn’t barking – she simply waited, almost as if she knew. When Annie stepped into the small room to meet her, Winnie’s warmth and calm energy sealed the deal. Annie filled out the adoption application, and the rest was history.

For Annie, Winnie has been more than a companion – she’s been a joyful, life-changing first step into the rescue community. Annie grew up with dogs but says her first rescue experience has been nothing short of magical. Winnie has even bonded with her senior German Shepherd sister, who has been the perfect role model for her transition into family life.
